My Story - My Journey Continues
Having reached my personal weight goal and with the holidays right around the corner, I
decided to "reward" myself by taking a break from the program, and pick back up in January
2010 to meet my new goal (195 pounds).
While on hiatus from the program I learned some interesting things about food. First, it didn't
taste quite as good as I remembered. All of my once favorite foods now tasted so rich and
over-indulgent. Anyone who has ever tried a regular soda after years of drinking diet sodas
knows the feeling. The regular soda tastes overly sweet - like licking a bowl of sugar. Also, I
couldn't finish the huge portions that used to leave me wanting more. The program broke my
sugar addiction, reduced my stomach size and proved that I could live without the rich foods I
once craved.
On January 4, 2010, I started again on the program with a new goal of 195 pounds but I added
something to it. I began a daily eating journal and tracked my daily weight. I reached my goal
in April of 195 pounds and started my exercise program. I have maintained my weight for 6
months and have decided to reset my goal to 177 pounds.
My optimal health journey is not yet over. I currently weigh 195 pounds, but I'm well on my
way to my new goal of 177 pounds. I feel great knowing that I can maintain my new weight,
and I love how I feel. I have so much energy now and am enjoying the benefits of optimal
health.
